Initially, nine singles were found in stores on May 16, 2011, the official Cars 2 toy launch.  Later, six more characters appeared in stores, completing the set of 15 characters listed on the back of the package.

In addition to the singles, multi-packs, launchers, talking cars, Mega Size and MORE hit stores on May 16.  Many stores offered exclusives:

	This Lightning McQueen with Metallic Finish was found at Toys R Us.
	This Pit Crew Mater (with headphone) was found at K-Mart.
	Walmart offered 4 different 2-Packs, including this Finn McMissile and Grem 2-Pack.
