Q&A

Q: Hi Joe, COULD YOU PLEASE TELL ME where I might be able to get one
of these. I have never seen one by Hot Wheels. Thank You , Claud
A: I would imagine
most retail stores will be getting the HW Batmobile soon, possibly this
month. I really don't know which will get the car first... retail stores or
comic book stores. Sometimes I get things at my comic book store before I
see them at retail, and sometimes I see them at retail first. I just
figured these may be hard to find at retail, so I went the comic book store
route. I definitely will make an announcement on my website when I see
them.
Q: Hi there. I (would) like to know if there (is) a
chance that the Black Beauty will out (in) 1:18 scale soon. -
Katoman175
A: Unfortunately, it appears that the 1:18 scale Black
Beauty from The Green Hornet has been canceled. Websites that
have previously taken pre-orders on the car now list it as canceled.
Q: Hey,
Whaz-up, Should Hollywood on Wheels 4 be shipping by now ? The month
of of June has passed and and (there's) no word about them being out. I
checked Ebay and they only have the old ones. Do you know what is going on ?
Thanks.

Jason
A: I think I saw a Johnny Lightning rep say that
Hollywood on Wheels 4 is "on the water," meaning they were crossing
the ocean and heading toward the U.S. I received an e-mail from
someone saying they saw a couple of cars from HOW4 at a die-cast hobby shop,
but since they're not showing up on eBay yet, I really don't think they've
arrived. I would bet they hit the pegs before the end of July.
I've ordered a case through my local comic book store. I will post the
info when they arrive.
Q: Hey Joe, Do you have any idea if there really was a 1970 Camaro in
Fast Times at Ridgemont High? I looked it up, and the Jefferson car
that I was thinking of is actually a 1976 Camaro Z28, the one that Spikoli
crashes.

A: According to the website Car Stars of Film &
Television, the Camaro featured in Fast Times is a 1979 Camaro
Z28. ERTL has never been known for its accuracy.
Q: Hi.
Question, will Johnny Lightning ever come out with the BMW 750i from
'' TOMORROW NEVER DIES '' ? That's the only James Bond
car that is missing in the series. Will they ? Thanks. -
Jason
A: I asked Johnny Lightning's Jeff Koch that very same
question quite a while ago. Tomorrow Never Dies is one of my
favorite films in the Bond series, mostly because I'm a huge Michelle Yeoh
fan. Jeff said JL doesn't have a casting for the BMW 750i and won't be
making one anytime soon. Instead, JL released the Aston Martin DB5
(again!) and a Caprice under the title Tomorrow Never Dies. I
had to settle for Corgi's 1:36 scale BMW from the film.
Check back next month for a new Q&A.
