Each month, I go through the most recent e-mails I've received and pick a few to share with you.  I try to personally respond to every e-mail I receive, but I also post a few here in my Q&A column.

Hi Joe,
Long time, how's your collection going? Mine is going great, I'll be have a Website up very soon to show my collection.  I have a question about your Mix CD, Where do you go to burn those theme songs?  Because I'm looking for the theme from HERBIE THE LOVE BUG. So, can you help me out ?    Thanks Joe.

 - Jas

Jason,
I rarely download music anymore since they started cracking down.  At one time, I used to have Napster on my computer.  When they shut that down I went to AudioGalaxy.  Currently I have Kazaa on my computer.  To burn CDs, I use a program called MusicMatch Jukebox.  I highly recommend it.  I've had it for years and I love it.  Visit www.musicmatch.com for more info.

Just to let you know, there is another unofficial Blue Thunder die-cast knocking about. Slightly bigger than the one posted by Franz, it is part of the 'Sky Birds' collectors series...Made by Toyway. The address is Toyway, Letchworth U.K.  They also do a U.S. Coast Guard version of Blue Thunder which is red.
I have no photo I'm afraid, and have only ever seen one (on Ebay).

BTW, who is the manufacturer of Franz's Racing Champions BT model??

- Robert Cassidy

Thanks for the info.  If anyone can provide a photo of the Blue Thunder helicopter that Robert described, I'd appreciate it.  I'll add it to the gallery and give you credit.  As for the Racing Champions Blue Thunder helicopter (above) or SV-3, I'm assuming the manufacturer is ERTL, which is now know as RC2.  I've been trying to find it on eBay with no luck.

I thought of a good one to add to your wish list of 1:18 scale, because it's on mine. The custom Vette from Corvette Summer. I was amazed that ERTL would make "The Car" which is cool but not that recognized,  yet no '66 Batmobile or Knight Rider.  So that Vette should be on there list of ones to make, huh?
Nice site.

I see a lot of requests for that custom Corvette.  Personally, I'd prefer to see it in 1:64 scale.  It's pretty unlikely we'll ever see it.  It's a fairly obscure movie and it would take a brand new casting to create it.  I found the photo above at http://corvette.cabbagestew.com/

As for the Batmobile, unless Hot Wheels has something up their sleeves, don't expect it any time soon.  K.I.T.T., however, will be showing up at the end of this year in 1:18 scale.

The Wish List that you see on my site is for 1:64 scale cars.   I haven't done a 1:18 scale Wish List yet.  If I did, it would include Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the white Ford from Grease, Christine, The Beverly Hillbillies truck, Mad Max's Interceptor, and of course, the '66 Batmobile.

Could you tell me if there's any hint that the following models will be built in 1:18 size?

A-Team Van
Fall Guy Pick Up Truck
Walker Texas Ranger Pick Up Truck
Stingray Black Corvette?

Tnx. - Oscar F. Garcia Ramos

I haven't heard any of those entertainment properties being discussed as a 1:18 scale possibility.  I can only give you my opinion for now:

The A-Team Van:  a possibility.  RC2 has the A-Team license and has produced the van in 1:64 scale.  I'll have to ask my RC2 rep about this one.

Fall Guy Pick Up Truck, Walker Pick Up Truck, Stingray 'Vette - unlikely.

Where do I go to find cars like this?  My husband is a big fan of The A-team and the Dukes of Hazzard.

- Liz

I get questions like this all the time Liz.  You have several options.  First, whenever possible, buy new cars at retail.  Fairly recently, you would've been able to find die-cast cars from The A-Team and The Dukes of Hazzard at almost any retail store like Target, K-Mart or Toys R Us.  For older "vintage" die-cast, you'll have to check hobby shops, flea markets and swap meets.  But Liz, to be honest, I save myself the hassle of driving around and just go straight to eBay for vintage cars.  That's where I've been able to put together my personal collection at a VERY reasonable cost.

I found this Motor Max 1/18th scale 1949 Buick that a close match to on seen in the movie Rain Man.
I placed it on this site, photobucket.com
You can copy and post it on your site if it fits.

Steve Robson

Thanks Steve.  I'll have to do a side by side comparison to see how close it is to the movie car.

Joe ,
I was cruising around on your site today and I was wondering how to join the club?
I have been collecting die-cast toys for a while and I'd like to show them off and network a bit with the rest of you.

Ty

First of all Ty, currently there is no Hollywood Die-Cast club.  Feel free to send me digital pics of your collection and I'll post them on my site.  As for the forum, registration is free and it's a great place to network.

I have, however, been thinking about starting a Hollywood Die-Cast Club.  For a fee, you would get an e-mail newsletter, a Hollywood Die-Cast hat or t-shirt, and maybe even an exclusive die-cast car.  Would anyone be interested in this sort of thing?  E-mail me with your thoughts and comments.

Your e-mails really make my day.  Please keep them coming.  Click on the e-mail link in the left column and I'll do my best to find the answer for you.
